A small city with an unusual housing mix
The American Community Survey (2020–2024) counts about 14,100 people and 5,450 housing units in Federal Heights. Only about one in five of those units is a detached single-family house. The rest are apartments, townhomes and a large share of manufactured homes, which is why the Census median home value in Federal Heights is so far below Westminster's.
For fence work, that mix means three kinds of jobs. Owners of detached houses on the side streets off 92nd Avenue want the same steel picket fences we build in Westminster. Apartment and townhome properties want sturdy perimeter fencing and pedestrian gates that close and lock reliably. Small businesses along Federal Boulevard want commercial-grade steel that can take a bump from a car.

Rules are Federal Heights rules, not Westminster's
Federal Heights is its own city with its own building division. Even though the city is surrounded by Westminster, a fence on a Federal Heights lot follows Federal Heights zoning and permit rules, not Westminster Municipal Code. We look up the lot's zoning and the city's fence standards before we draw anything, and we pull the permit where one is required.
Steel for high-traffic properties
Multifamily and commercial fences in Federal Heights take more abuse than a backyard fence. Kids climb them, cars nudge them in parking lots, and gates open and close hundreds of times a week. For those jobs we use heavier steel posts, commercial gate hinges and latches built for heavy use, and self-closing hardware where the gate must stay shut.
Steel panels on the wayClose to Water World and the Federal Boulevard corridor
Federal Heights is known regionally as home to Hyland Hills' Water World park along Pecos Street. Most residential streets sit between Federal Boulevard and Pecos, from about 84th Avenue north toward 104th. From our Westminster routes the drive is short, which makes small jobs like a single gate repair practical.
Typical Federal Heights jobs
- Replacing worn chain link in front of a ranch house with a 42-inch open steel picket fence.
- Pedestrian gates with closers and keyed latches for small apartment buildings.
- Resetting leaning posts and rehanging gates on older steel fences.
- Steel fencing around equipment or storage behind small businesses on Federal Boulevard.
Our repair page covers most of the fixes, and the pricing page has published price ranges for new fences.
